James Boler grew up in Memphis, TN and has always been an outdoor and adventurous person. He grew up playing all sports but excelled at baseball and competitive softball after college.  Soon after retiring from travel ball, James found himself searching for another hobby so he decided to try his luck at the St. Jude 1/2 Marathon in Memphis, TN.  He was never a runner before this, but he assured himself that he could accomplish this goal with hardly any training.  This was the start to his running career, roughly 5 years ago.  Since then, James has completed numerous races including a 200 miler and four 100 milers.

In the Spring of 2023, James created the group Mamba Trail Runners and Memphis, TN first ever 100 miler - the Mamba 100.    His vision, passion and attention to detail helped make the Mamba 100 a very successful race in its very first year.  Quoting James, "I've ran several 100 milers and even a 200 miler so I know what the runners go through during that type of race.  I have a huge responsibility to help the runners finish their race, achieve their goal and have the best race experience ever."

James continues to build the Mamba Trail Runners as his vision isn't just another local running group, but a group of trail runners from all over the country that can come together for an epic race experience.
